Balenciaga: Paris Fall 2010Nicolas Ghesquière presented a very futuristic and youthful Fall 2010 collection for Balenciaga. Color blocking was a key detail mixing aqua, orange, light blue, brown white and grey into crafted and innovative garments. He used various materials such us quilted cashmere, and perforated fabrics and prints. We specially loved the printed tops that unrolled into fitted pants with beautiful matching mini jackets. The coats were also exquisite and very elaborate. Mr. Ghesquière as always pushes haute couture to a higher level and his new collection is an example of technology playing an important role in the development of fashion into the future. Well done!

Prada: Milan Fall 2010For Fall 2010 Miuccia Prada has the everyday woman in mind. A woman who embraces her body and doesn't necessarily fit the high-fashion model physique. We love the look of this collection which was 1960's inspired. Prada offered an array of beautiful and very feminine wool dresses, A line skirts, paired with double collar jackets and thick knit sweaters. The ruffle details in the dresses and leggings are exquisite as well as the very elaborate embroidery and beading. We also liked the eyewear that was presented. This is an elegant collection that will surely make its way to many closets around the world.

Mens Trends Fall 2010 NY Fashion Week: Mad for PlaidPlaid and buffalo check prints were seen in many menswear shows this fashion week. With plaid being on the radar for the past few seasons as a huge trend, we were slightly surprised to see the pattern still so prevelant, however, we still think the plaid has legs to walk right into next Fall.

Naeem Khan: NY Fall 2010The Naeem Khan Fall 2010 collection had to be one of our favorites of fashion week. Elegant, chic, good girl and bad girl, glamourous with a hint of love and rock and roll. Metal paillettes, wool crepe jackets, slip gowns, long sleeve beaded mini-dresses, ostrich feathers, metallic brocades and strapless tule gowns were all combined adding up to a phenominal collection which brought out peple like actress Brooke Shields, editor Joe Zee from Elle Magazine and fellow designer Rachel Roy who were all sitting near us front row. One of the only designers of the week who got a well deserved standing 0vation after a show.

Brian Reyes: NY Fall 2010Designer Brian Reyes was new to us when we saw his collection during this fashion week. It was collection that served a wide taste range, From downtown hip short skirts shown with thigh high socks, to business casual, to weekend cocktail, to a waredrobe for a lady who lunches. We thought one of the most directional looks showed an open midrif and a shiny black and blue metallic fabric.

David Delfin: NY Fall 2010Madrid designer David Delfin showed a modern collection with a mix of textures and color. Bright yellow, almost neon fushia, grey, white and black were colors of choice. The collection had an almost striking starkness, white shirts were buttoned all the way up to the neck, muted snake and prince of wales prints were shown together with wool, polyamede, angora and cashmere. Suit coats for women and men were simplistic and well cut with displaced seams, we enjoyed this show like we enjoy the minimalism of say, Jil Sander.

Anna Sui: NY Fall 2010Each season designer Anna Sui takes us into her world and captivates us by her vision. Always a clashing mix of wonderful colors and prints put together only the way the designer can. This collection was a wonderland and it reminded us of an innocent walk through the forest. Young and slightly nostalgic, we thought this was one of her best collections.

Alexandre Herchcovitch: NY Fall 2010Designer Alexandre Herchovitch dives into the world of Soviet and Armenian folklore to create a captivating urban mix for their Fall 2010 collection. The highlight of the show were beautiful crystal and chain headpieces, these worked together with the clothes that were a collage of ethnic prints, plaids, and muted colors, that had an understated rock and roll feel, yet still staying feminine and frilly.[/b]

Michael Kors: NY Fall 2010The Michael Kors collection was a cozy mix of luxury. The autumn color palette of browns, greys, black, taupe and gold was classic and signature. Showing both menswear and womenswear, the Kors really knows how to satify every need when it comes to winter and Fall dressing. Beautiful sweater dresses, slouchy wool pants, and long maxi skirts were perfect for womens. For mens we loved the tailored wool coats and fitted knit sweaters teamed with well cut trousers. The perfect collection.

Tibi: NY Fall 2010Tibi remains one of the newer collections which is always fresh and wearable and does very well at retail for every day women who want to be a little different yet still stylish. We always enjoy the line's feminine prints and easy cuts which we feel have a niche in the industry due to the clothes being uncomplicated and simplistic. We sat in the front row across from Olivia Palermo of the Elle Magazine and MTV show "The City".

Rodarte: NY Fall 2010The designers of Rodarte showed a very interesting and unique collection for Fall 2010. Taking inspiration from a long drive they recently did from El Paso to Marfa, Texas, they were inspired by sleepy towns near the Mexican border and Mexico itself. The designers latest dreamworld was mixed with twisted knits, floral chiffons, and macrame-like fringe hung from skirts and dresses. We noticed the collection was not as dark as the last collections and more quirky and upbeat and we enjoyed the use of color in the collection.

Narciso Rodriguez: NY Fall 2010Narciso Rodriguez presented his Fall 2010 collection at Bryant Park last night. Sitting at the front row we noticed that many top editors such as Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld, Suzy Menkes and celebrities like Kelly Rutherford from Gossip girl came to join him for the last time in this legendary venue, next season we will all gather again at Lincoln Center. The collection was modern with lots of asymmetrical cuts and impeccable tailoring . The color palette was dark consisting of black, different shades of grey, emerald and bronze. Some of the models were styled with sixty's inspired tall black hats which added a hint of elegance to the beautiful coats, jackets and dresses. Exquisite wool twill, wool silks, washed leathers, shearlings and neoprene were used for the outerwear and for the dresses we noticed delicate textured silks, knits and silk shadow prints.

Max Azria: NY Fall 2010Designer Max Azria showed a stunning collection of extremely beautiful luxurious peices which were completely wearable and very well made. Small amounts of leather was worked into the line well, seamed and blocked with sheer peicing, also leather skinny trousers were seen. Sophisticated separates and well cut coats were amoung favorites. Many of the garments had subtle details like color blocking and seaming on draping that hung just right. We also liked the use of silk and jersey done in deconstructed garments which had an easiness that the designer does so well.

Marc Jacobs: NY Fall 2010Last night Marc Jacobs showed a show with models elegantly dressed in a palette of neutral colors and demure shapes. Continuing with the designers theme that there wouldn't be many celebrities invited to his show this season, we also noticed many of the models on the runway were quite new and up and coming. A collection of clean lines, pure with tweed librarian skirts, wool coats, and embelished cashmere sweaters were mixed in with shiny cardigans and sheath dresses. We liked the Marc's very demure take on Fall 2010.
